Daily Educational Resource
Eternal Rest Episode 4 (Must have Formed.org subscription to access): What is left for the living to do after someone dies? In this session, we talk about the final ways in which those still living on earth care for the body and soul of the dead. We discuss the work that remains for the living to do as we grieve for the deceased and as we turn to the work of preparing for our own death, and the hope in which we live and die as Christians.
Song of the Day
Day 7: "Fear is Not My Future" Brandon Lake. Let this be your declaration for today and going forward. With a plan to follow the Good Shepherd, the Prince of Peace, to seek relationship, communion with Him above all else! Make a resolve this day to put Jesus at the center and live on purpose to one day meet Him face to face and hear Him say well done good and faithful servant!
Daily Meet Your Maker Moment
Sit with Jesus and hear Him ask you: "What do you fear? About death? About life?"
Honestly dialogue with Jesus, laying out your fears about death, life, current situations, etc. Picture Him listening empathetically and asking you questions to go deeper to the root, like a good Counselor. .
Ask: "Jesus, what lies am I believing that cause me be afraid?"
Listen for what you think He says (it may. just sound like your own thought...take a risk that it really is the Good Shepherd who said His sheep hear His voice, and "ask and you will receive" that is talking back to you, using your human faculties of imagination). Write down what you hear.
Take time to renounce each lie out loud. Example: "In the name of Jesus, I renounce the lie that.... [my past precludes me from a joyful future] [No one will ever love me unless I achieve x,y,z] [People aren't safe, I need to isolate myself if I don't want to get hurt]..." etc.
Ask: "Jesus, what truth do you want to give me for these lies?"
Listen for the answer and then declare those truths outloud.
Example: "In the Name of Jesus I declare the truth that....[whatever you hear the Holy Spirit tell you] [ex: I am loved perfectly just as I am, not based on anything that I do. Just as parents love and gaze upon their newborn child, so the Lord loves and gazes upon me.]"
Ask Jesus, the Prince of Peace, to flood your heart, mind, body, soul and spirit with His peace that passes understanding and allow His perfect love to cast out any residue of fear.
