Prayer Bootcamp Week 4

Prayer Bootcamp Week 4

What we did in the session this week:

There was a great surprise testimony from Linda at the beginning of class--check it out if you weren't there!  It's right at the beginning of the recording.

Then we had small group with ACTS prayer and checking in on how your prayer time is going, followed by a 13 minute video on formed.org about the origins of the Bible

THIS WEEK'S BOOTCAMP CHALLENGE: Add Lectio Divina to your prayer time.  Here are 7 very beautiful scenes in the Gospels to pray with.  I will put a matching clip from the Chosen next to some (be sure to pray with it before watching the clip though...no cheating:0)

Check out some Chosen Trailers & explanation below...
The Chosen is a series about Jesus made by Christians that you can tell are praying with the Bible!! It's become an crazy successful hit all around the world.  Starting in 2019 as the most crowd-funded show ever, it has now reached hundreds of millions of people.  It's free to watch on many different platforms.  The scenes above are just snippets, and it is highly recommended to watch The Chosen in sequential order --starting with Season 1 Ep 1 (they are now up to and about to release the 5th season).
While the Chosen is art and does not purport nor is meant to be a replace for the Bible (of course), it does do an excellent job of getting to the heart of the Gospels and depicting Jesus and the disciples in a very beautiful and realistic/relatable way.  Don't let it replace your prayer time, of course, but it might just help to enhance it and can be a good replacement if your used to and want to quit watching a series that is perhaps not glorifying to God....

Give some out loud scripture reading a try with some new verses and/or stick with one that your repeat every day of this week over and over (you might even accidentally memorize it:-)
